We have tried to capture the feel of a "fairy tale" mountain cottage with the Tudor design and stucco exterior. As unashamed "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" fans, we especially like the round front door that you enter through and the breathtaking mountain views you will see instantly as look straight ahead down the hall and out through the sliding glass doors and huge windows.
It truly is astounding how the mountain never look the same on any given day or season. Bright or Deep green in the summer, a brilliant array of colors in fall, and often covered in snow in the winter, there really is no "off-season" to enjoying the Blue Ridge Mountains.
What's Unique about Black Mountain & Our Home?
Did you know that Black Mountain was ranked "The Prettiest Small Town in America" a few years back on Trip Advisor? One of the reasons why is that unlike some "mountain towns," you can see the Blue Ridge Mountains from any spot in town! Whether you're walking through the shops downtown or enjoying one of the many restaurants, pumping gas or even going to the grocery store, the mountains surround you and the views are stunning!
Our home sits on a mountain with 2 massive 20ft x 10ft back decks with rocking chairs and adirondack chairs for you to enjoy what you likely are coming here for - the VIEWS! And while you'll feel you've escaped to the mountains, our home sits only a short 5 minute drive from all the shops, restaurants, grocery story, and cool places in downtown Black Mountain. It's a getaway with convenience!
For those who love the outdoors, there are plenty of hiking trails close by. And if you've never been, you HAVE to visit beautiful Lake Tomahawk -- a glistening lake encircled with mountains. It's just a short 10-minute walk or a 2-minute drive from our home. People love to walk around the walking track.
Many people come to the area to visit the historic Biltmore Estate. It's only a 20-minute drive up the road. They have regular exhibits that are always changing, and of course, Christmas time is such a wonderful time to see the home.
If you want to spend part of your time simply enjoying the home, we have provided indoor entertainment children (and adult children) will love! Enjoy our professional Pac-Man air hockey table or the arcade machines - NBA Jam & Street Fighter 2. Bring out some nostalgia while you're here!
All of our beds are probably the most comfortable we have slept in ourselves! We have a king bed, queen bed, 2 twin beds, and pull-out full couch bed. TVs are in each bedroom, the living room, and the game room.
And who doesn't want to take a LOOOONG luxurious shower while vacationing? We trust you'll do just that in one of our two beautiful showers with oversized shower heads. We've provided all the towels you need as well.
If you plan on staying a bit longer, you'll have access to our laundry room with brand new washer and dryer. We trust no matter how long you choose to stay, you won't want to leave. We never want to either. That's ok - just come and stay again when you can!
